So chatting has some spammer, too. And some stalker. And of cause, some people you don't want to listen to.

So it would be very nice, if there is a possibility to ignore others.

In KDE 4.0.0, Kopete received a "Privacy" plugin. With this plugin, you can automatically ignore all messages from people that are not in your contact list.
