Description Philippe 2007-02-07 17:50:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Kmail 1.9.6 in Kubuntu Edgy 6.10 (KDE 3.5.6)

This grave bug/crash http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140660#c15 has been closed but it hasn't resolved after the recent "patch".

How to reproduce (I have made 5 times the demonstration with a safe backup) :
- open kmail (or via kontact, it's the same)
- you must have one or several rules defined to move mails to different maildir
- select all mail in a box (the crash produced near 100 mails for me)
- [CTRL] + J for apply the rules
- kmail crash (the kubuntu log is under the post but unreadable I suppose...)
- reopen kmail
- when you stay on a receved mail it becomes EMPTY: you have lost your mail and the most of them (right arrow to pass-and-delete them ^^)
- you can delete near ALL your mails when you reproduce sereral times this crash-delete.

Well well... Thunderbird doesn't have this kind of problems...

I hope this bug'll not close again and revolve.

The supalog now, my Kubuntu say :\

Bug #140660 is now open again, so I'll mark this one as a duplicate.
Since a possible fix has been committed, I would be nice if you could try the SVN version and test if the crash still occurs.
