Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux The default file-open dialog for KDE Apps has no more the possibility to preview all thumbnails in a folder - only the possibility to preview the selected file in the right "Preview-Panel". Prior to 3.5.6 ther was the posibility to select "Symbol-view" (or somthing like this - im on a german i18n). This is very anoying ... To find a Icon or somthing like that, it is much easier to see (a very small, though) preview in the Open-Dialog. Or did i miss something? tia Daniel Weigl
Okay... after some time, i found that the previous behaviour seems to be only Kubuntu-specific (that there is a shortcut to enable "auto preview" in the toolbar). But in the vanilla version it is very hard to find to activate the "auto preview" (if i hadnt knew it, i would not have searched it and maybe never found that fine feature). So maybe its an good idea to but the "auto preview" option in the dropdown of the menubar. Daniel Weigl
not sure I understand this, but I don't think it qualifies as bug, maybe a wishlist if even...

Here using KDE trunk, I can both enable preview mode (instead of icons), and a sidebar preview. Closing as fixed.
