Description bernie.hackett 2007-01-29 02:39:04 UTC
Version:           <=1.4-svn (using KDE KDE 3.5.5KDE 1.2)
Installed from:    Gentoo PackagesGentoo Packages
Compiler:          gcc-4.1.1
OS:                Linux

When playing tracks from daap (mt-daapd in this case), amarok cuts off each track between 5 and 6 seconds early. The slider at the bottom of the player shows that there is more time left in the track but the player still skips to the next track before the current one has finished or stops early if no other tracks are queued. This only seems to happen with daap shares. When playing tracks from the local hard drive,amarok plays each track to completion as it should. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the daap client implementation or the way the player itself treats daap devices. As far as I can tell each track is buffered completely before play begins so I don't think its a daap client problem. It's possible that the problem resides in xine. Daap playback doesn't work at all using helix so I have nothing test it against.

I experience this problem on three different machines that I use and friends of mine who use amarok report having the same problem.
