Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux I guess that most re,ote-sites are used to transfer data to them from some local directory. At the moment one has to open the remote-site and hit CTRL+T in order to split the window and have a local and the remote folder. Hence it might be useful if one could add a local folder to the remote:/ settings which is automatically opened when accessing that site, i.e. in split-mode. The only problme there is: which split-mode, i.e. vertical or horizontal. Either one picks what is considered best or gives the user a choice by providing a drop-down menu or something like that.
You could get part of this by having a view profile with the split screen, and one frame pointed to $HOME, the other pointed to remote:/
Yeah, this makes sense to set up yourself, not as a default behavior.
