Version:           0.12.3 (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-5 (4.0))
Compiler:          Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-3-k7

I sugest a new mothod to aquire the global photo: from a screenshot. 2 ways to implement this: 
1) from the clipboard (see bug 83870 for clipboard kioslave)
2) provide a screenshot tool (like krita)(method 2 should be used until method clipboard kioslave is implemented).

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
