Description Torquil Macdonald Sørensen 2007-01-22 14:14:22 UTC
Version: 0.12.3 (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-5 (4.0))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-3-686

I use kopete with Google Talk. In the "Identity -> Nickname" tab in the preferences, I have specified a nickname, since I don't want to use my GMail address. However, when I start kopete and start writing, I notice that it uses my GMail address as nickname. I see that it prints the email address instead of my nickname in the chat session. If I edit the nickname setting, and press OK, the correct nickname is used.

This is not just a cosmetic problem. It interferes with the "Highlight messages containing your nickname" setting.

Best regards,
Torquil M. Sørensen

I am closing this report, since it is a duplicate of bug 139115. But I don't know how to mark it as a duplicate. The only option is "Mark bug as RESOLVED (you're the reporter)". I will do that, lacking better alternatives.

Best regards,
