Description Pedro Venda 2007-01-16 23:51:33 UTC
Version: 0.1.3-rc1-svn (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

When producing HTML galleries, images (and thumbnails) should be correctly oriented (autorotated according to EXIF data).

A portrait image should not appear in landscaped (and therefore wrongly rotated in some odd multiple of 90 degrees) - neither on the thumbnails nor on the destination image file.

(sorry. wish title should have been: "Wish: HTML export plugin should autorotate images". Can anyone change it?)
Comment 2 Achim Bohnet 2007-01-17 00:55:58 UTC
I've change the title as you requested. Your suggestion sounds like
a sensible safe guard to me. Question is: what to do when original images
are uploaded.

Curious: have you tried which browsers get it and and which get it wrong?
Comment 3 Pedro Venda 2007-01-17 01:59:48 UTC
Thanks for the change.

What to do when original images are uploaded?
If necessary rotate them, but don't touch the originals.

I never thought of using another browser; Are there any browsers that do autorotate of images?

(I got confused with your questions... not sure if I made myself clear)

Let me try to clarify:
When I refer to the HTML export plugin, I mean the one that copies images from digikam (for example) onto some folder on the hard drive, creates thumbnails of each file and creates some nice HTML files with the thumbnails linked to the full images.

Pedro,

This file still valid using kipi-plugins 0.1.6 ?

This feature is still missing in kipi-plugins v0.8.
It would be handy.

It's easy to do with libkexiv2.

Exemple code from another plugin :
