Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs OS: Linux By default amarok is renaming the mp3 transfered to a USB mass storage mp3 player. This is odd/annoying as this is breaking the naming scheme of the user and he will have to rename the files back if he was just willing to backing up them on the player. IMHO by default amarok should not renamed the mp3. Eventually it could create automatically the artist directory, but not rename the file. We could have : %artist%/filename.mp3 If the user want to rename the files ( this is a customisation ), then he just have to go to the media properties in amarok. No customisation should be done by default, this should be handled in the options
We don't agree, sorry.
I disagree, for example it changes the order of songs of an album cd, in my nokia phone, what's good about this? Why not give the option in the the mediaplayer settings? I would like to use amaork, so it converts files to compatible files for my player, and changes names to vfat automaticly but I dont like the rename thing, so Im using a SoundKonverter an rename files my self to vfat compatible names... Anyway theres missing an option to shorten filenames to certain numbers of characters so for example motorola k1m phones with sd card can use the files, but I'll do a separate wish report about this#, couse I guess theres lot's of Mediaplayers needing more then just vfat compatible filenames...
