Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Compiler: gcc 4.1.2 OS: Linux Connect usb cd rom. Tail /var/log/messages. Device is reconized correctly and assigned usb address. Insert cd into cd rom. Wait for popup asking what I want to do. When popup appears, cd rom is offlined, per log, and not accessible. Work around is to stop KDED Media Manager from Control Panel, access normally via K3B, etc. CD-ROM being mounted is on LITE-ON usb drive. Tested with powered usb hub to elimate power as an issue, with same result.
Sorry, wrong product. Also I think this is probably a kernel-bug or broken hardware because the media-manager in kde constantly polls the device, this can cause problems if there are general problems with usb-timing.
Any news on this ? Can you still reproduce this bug on KDE4? Thanks
