Description Pascal d'Hermilly 2007-01-01 22:06:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

My email is hosted on pop.tipisoft.dk, and every time kmail checks new mail it ask for the DNS for pop.tipisoft.dk AND pop.tipisoft.dk.Belkin which is my router.
This seems very strange to me as it has already received an address from the first request.

See the requests on http://www.tipisoft.dk/kmail-dns.png

Is someone looking into this?

No. KMail lacks manpower to look at and fix most bug reports.

Was the implementation rewritten for akonadi so this bug is irrelevant?

I tried this now with kmail/KDE4.3 with my providers POP server (I'm also behind a router).
I see only 1 DNS query for the providers POP server.

Have you got your routers name somewhere in kmails configuration ?
Can you try with a newly setup POP account with KDE4.3 ?
