Version: 0.44 (using KDE 3.5.5, Kubuntu (edgy) 4:3.5.5-0ubuntu3) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17-10-generic I am using Kooka with a HP PSC 750: a all-in-one scanner-printer connected via USB. Strangely, no matter what image format i select (BMP, PNG, other lossless ones), i always get JPEG artifacts in color and grayscale scans. (Maybe as well in lineart, but they won't be visible.) With MS Windows, there are other problems with the included driver: Pictures are automatically sharpened during scanning. All images contain an "unsharp mask halo" around areas with lots of contrast. But there are no JPEG artifacts! This is why i assume it must be part of the driver or scanning software. Maybe it is not even a problem of Kooka, but another software layer? Best greetings, drx
