Description Bob Rutsky 2006-12-26 20:31:32 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

It would be very useful to add feature for changing layout in which message is entered.
This applies to non-english users, whose writes messages in outher than english layout.
This feature already exists in QIP ICQ messenger (qip.ru) for Windows.
In QIP you can press ctrl+r to change layout of selected entered text in currently editing message (if no text selected layout changes in all message).

For example if you entered russian text in english layout you will see something like this: "Plhfdcndeq Vbh!", and after changing layout (and entering once more) "Здравствуй мир!" ("Hello World!" in russian).

Thanks!

You might want to check out XNeur for this functionality. Doubt it is worth doing on the DE-level.
