1. Download Kubuntu Edgy 6.10 (ISO CD Image) from their official site
2. Burn the downloaded ISO image to a CD-ROM
3. Boot from CD-ROM -- change, update, add or delete absolutely nothing. This is a "clean run from a Live CD".
4. Click K Menu
5. Select "System Settings"
6. Click "Printers"
7. After a few seconds, the "System Settings" window vanishes, and is replaced by an error message about "Signal 11".
8. Debugging info provided in second tab of error message is shown below.
9. Restart "System Settings" from K Menu
9. Click Settings > Configure Toolbar.
10. Add "Report Bug..." to the end of the list
11. Use "Report Bug" to start bug reporting process. This launches Konqueror and starts the registration on your web site.
12. Switch back to "System Settings" window, and click "Printers" again.
13. This time, the appropriate window opened OK! I finally got this to work and successfully installed the HP LaserJet 3 driver (Foomatic/ljet3) that I needed. The Test Page even printed OK!
