Description Ronny Standtke 2006-12-14 17:40:21 UTC
Version: 0.12.3 (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-5 (4.0))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-3-686

I have a Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000. I tested it with kdetv and it works.
When opening the Kopete configuration dialog ("Settings->Configure...") and selecting the section "Devices" I only see a green rectangle. Whenever I touch one of the Controls (Brightness, Contrast, ...) Kopete crashes reproducibly.

Here is the backtrace:

Very bizarre. We fixed a crash almost the same as this a while back (bug 120117). Could you try installing kdenetwork-dbg to see if you get the same backtrace? (I can't see anything in setBrightness() that could actually crash, and I suspect it's actually crashing in getBrightness() - a full debug build should show this).

trace with more debugging symbols

OK, here comes the new trace.
Comment 3 Philip Rodrigues 2006-12-20 14:31:36 UTC
Thanks, that backtrace makes it clearer - it is the same problem as before, but just in a different bit of code. I think I'll reopen 120117 since this is pretty much the same thing.
