It's just rendered useless as it is simply not an option to move forward in the wizard-like interface. Would like to provide a screen dump (how?). I've seen some dumps elsewhere and can tell whats missing from my program. As in short description. buttons in buttom of window are all gone and don't see any in the right hand area. When choosing a category I only get the list to tic and menu in top. Thats it. Get this with all versions of kiosktool I've tried till now.

Same for us. We do not see text of buttons and buttons are inactives. Bummer... On mandriva 2007, i586, kiosktool 1.0-4 from mandrake cooker.
I've switched to Kubuntu 6.10 and upgraded to newest KDE. The kiosktool app works fine now (tricky though with Kubuntu running root-less, so to speak). For obvious reason I can't report back on the issue with Mandriva, but good luck to you all.
Seeing this problem on mandrivaone 2008 as well....
It's a same on mandriva 2008. We need a patch for this or simply to install dependencies.
I now have the same issue with debian testing and KDE3.5.8
