Version: 1.9.3 (using KDE 3.5.5, Arch Linux) Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-ARCH I really enjoy the new 'Find in Files' feature - save for one little, annoyance: It is (by default; don't know if it can be turned off) placed above other windows - makes very much sense). But it tends to stick in the middle of the screen, so in order to use it properly, I have to simulate a docked window: resize-move to cover the side panel and not the file window. So why not just make it dockable in the side bar (or the bottom panel), since it already has half that function? I suppose this can be done through dcop or something, but I haven't managed yet. So how about a feature?
The latest development (SVN) version of Kile follows your idea. The changed FindInFiles dialog is not dockable, but you can put it into background. I think that this was the main part of your wish. ciao holger
Does this feature exist as of 2020 or has it been replaced by the default find?
