Description Charles A. Landemaine 2006-12-05 13:34:35 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: FreeBSD Ports
OS: FreeBSD

With PC-BSD, if I open a Samba share in Konqueror located at for instance: smb://server/docs/ and if I right-click a file and select "Compress > Compress as > file.tar.bz2", a window pops up with "Compressing..." but this keeps on compressing during hours and hours, while if you do this on a local file system, it takes a fraction of a second.

In the end you cancel, and your file is not compressed. This only happens using the smb:// protocol.
