Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Today when I loaded Quanta+ 3.5 it would not get passed the spalsh screen. When that happened I tried loading it into a terminal, and I got this: Invalid entry (empty key) at /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php.docrc:186 Invalid entry (empty key) at /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php.docrc:187 Invalid entry (empty key) at /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php.docrc:188 Invalid entry (empty key) at /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php.docrc:189 Invalid entry (empty key) at /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php.docrc:190 Invalid entry (empty key) at /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php.docrc:191 Invalid entry (empty key) at /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php.docrc:192 Invalid entry (empty key) at /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php.docrc:193 Invalid entry (empty key) at /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php.docrc:194 Invalid entry (empty key) at /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php.docrc:224 The programs GUI starts up, and if the splash screen was not there it would work. I am running Fedora Core 6. I believe I have Quanta+ 3.5
Check if you quantarc file did not grow too much (several 100KB). If it did, rename it and start again Quanta and see if helps.
I erased ~/.kde/share/apps/quanta I also erased /usr/share/apps/quanta Then I removed the kdewebdev package Then I reinstalled the kdewebdev package. Is quantarc in either of those locations?
~/.kde/share/config/quantarc I assume
I'm sure removing quantarc worked. If not, reopen the report.
This should not be marked as "resolved" - unless it is really resolved in the latest version. I used quanta only very little, then left it open when I rebooted the machine (i.e. quanta was not propely closed by accident). After the reboot, quanta would freeze upon startup, with the splash screen still there. No action possible, except to kill quanta externally. I could resolve this after removing quantarc, as suggested above. However, this is so easily triggered that many people will be hit, and only a fraction will check existing bug reports to find the workaround. Version: KDE 3.5.5 on SUSE 10.2 64 bit
Well, I have no problems reopening it, but if "this is so easily triggered" I'd like to know HOW to do it, as for me this does not happen. Or is that a reboot with Quanta open enough? BTW, of course you should try 3.5.6 as it has fixes that affect the quantarc (and thus the startup).
Hi, I've installed Fedora 24 yesterday, and I've got this problem. I Would like to open a new bug because this thread is very old, but where can I choose product 'quanta' ?
