Version: 0.5.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux When I view a dvi or pdf file (especially when I'm viewing a LaTeX document that I'm working on) I like zoom to the point where I am able to position a given page in the viewport so that I see all of the text on the page and little of the margins. Classic unix previewers like gv and xdvi, as well as TeXshop and TeXniscope under OS X, allow one to FIX one's desired page position in the viewport so that, after positioning a page, when one moves to the previous or next page ("b" or "f" in xdvi and gv) the page position in the viewport remains unchanged (see the "-keep" option in xdvi -- toggled by the "k" key interactively; gv appears to do this by default). In kpdf (as well as kdvi), however, this does not appear to be possible. If I zoom and position a page, and then move to the previous or next page, my desired page position in the viewport is lost and the new page is positioned in the viewport so that the entire top margin is visible at the top, rather than the first line of text, which usually means that text at the bottom of the page is chopped off. I have not found any setting that will maintain page position. Can you add this very useful and convenient feature? Let me emphasize that kpdf and kdvi are wonderful programs!
