Description Matthieu Foulet 2006-11-11 14:50:40 UTC
Version: 1.4.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I have many files that contain accents both in ID3 tags and filenames that doesn't show up into my collection.
When I change the names (but not the tag), they appear correctly (and amarok displays accents in the collection), so it may not be a problem of utf-8 usage in tags.

When I drag these files into amarok directly from my folder, I can play it with no problem.

Another problem related to the first one is that files that should be put into the folder "Artistes Variés" (Various Artists) of my collection appear in amarok but when I try to organize them within amarok, I have an error message saying "Sorry, n files couldn't be organized", the folder containing the name of the artist is created into the folder named "Artistes Variés" but the mp3 file itself is not moved.

I'm using amarok version 1.4.4 under gnome and Ubuntu Edgy, my mp3 files are stored in a FAT32 formatted external drive, and I had no problem when I was running amarok 1.4.2 under breezy. But since I have upgraded both versions (ubuntu & amarok) I don't know which one is in cause...

I got exactly the same problems (i don't have tried to organise the files in the collection) on ubuntu feisty fawn 7.04 gnome 2.18.1 amarok 1.4.5 for KDE 3.5.6 (but i'm using gnome). I use a french version of Ubuntu.
I can do some test if you want.
Thanks a lot for this great app!
