Version: 3.5.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux There is sequence of my actions: Open .tar.gz archive in konqueror; Preview any text file; Try to select some text; Crash. It happens not with all archives. For example, bchunk-1.2.0.tar.gz and ccrypt-1.7.tar.gz makes konqueror crash, when I select text from READMEs.
Can not reproduce. Could you supply a backtrace?

May be, there is the difference in versions. May be, this bug was resolved in newer versions of KDE. I'm using openSUSE 10.2 Alpha5 without any modifications.
