Version: 3.5.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux Whenever I right-click a Debian package (or similar .deb-based file), most of the time the cursor image freezes (i.e. it will not change into a normal pointer when it is moved off of the icon), the taskbar does not respond, and Konsole does not refresh when I type into it (Konsole has transparency enabled). The menu I wanted when I right-clicked never appeared. The only fix I can find is to restart X.
When the freeze occurs, try running "kill -SEGV <pid-of-kdesktop>". This should get you a crash dialog, hopefully with a backtrace. Please paste the backtrace into this bug report
No backtrace, unfortunately. Running the recommended command, instead, "undoes" the freeze (i.e. everything goes back to normal). I suspect a dupe of bug 127749. But, if either: a) you still see the bug in kde 3.5.6 or b) you aren't using kopete, please reopen this report *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 127749 ***
Bug closed. Kdesktop is no more mantained.
