Description Martin L ü c h e m 2006-10-12 10:12:16 UTC
Version: 0.7 (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a-1 (testing/unstable))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-1-686

When I create an new submenue or a new element with a dot at the beginning then it will not bei displyed in the kde menue. e.g.: ".New Element" being a container for other entries will not be shown.

To me this is not suprizing. What I would like to know is the following:

1. Is that the normal behaviour? Should that happen?

2. If 1. is correct can I safely use this to hide menues that I later on might reactivate? Are there any risks to use this as a feature? Can I change this behaviour, e.g. switch on to see elements beginning with a dot?

Thanks a lot! Martin

1 No

2 No, the menu spec uses the <Deleted> tag to suppress system wide menus that users have deleted.
