Description tech9iner+BugsKDEorg 2006-10-09 17:07:56 UTC
Version: 1.2.3 (using KDE 3.5.4 "release 88.1" , openSUSE )
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.21-0.13-default

have created a custom 'altkey + q' keyboard call to show/hide the quicksearch bar.. for several days quite confused on what had changed about keyboard input focus and or why a folder with dozens/hundreds of retained messages was utterly empty suddenly?!.. some panic first few times until realizing even when closed, that last search keywords and/or any typed letters were being applied to now invisible/closed quicksearch input field if one had not confirmed keyboard/mouse-cursor was not active in said quicksearch input field; BE IT CLOSED / INVISIBLE OR NOT.. quite inconvenient for us pure keyboardists / non-mousers indeed.. albeit we can imagine could still be disconcerting for mousers too until discerned as it took us two weeks to realize here.. be nice to code quicksearch when toggled closed releases all keywords / keyboard / mouse focus ideally to message list pane?
THANKS FOR A GREAT EMAIL CLIENT!

[11:48] <moltonel> http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135348 confirmed, can someone mark as new and component "kmail" ?
Comment 2 Thomas McGuire 2009-08-23 20:21:13 UTC
KMail after KDE 4.2 no longer can hide the quick search, and therefore this bug doesn't exist.
