Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: FreeBSD Ports OS: FreeBSD I am making use of KOrganizer's journal facility on a regular basis, and in time I have come to realize that certain things don't belong there, or at least they don't seem to belong there and I can't imagine a proper use for them. First and foremost the Date and Time inputs: a journal is implicitly chronological, each entry pertains to the date and time when it was written. When people who keep a journal enter something about yesterday, they don't start by claiming that the entry as such has been written yesterday. They instead start their entry with "Yesterday...". Please simply record the date and time when the entry was written, and remove the date/time inputs from the GUI. ( also see http://lists.kde.org/?l=kdepim-users&m=115969696715217&w=2 )
I've posted this initially on the kdepim-users mailing list, so now I'm copying the discussion from there for reference: Allen Winter replied: But what if I want forgot to write yesterday's journal and this morning I decide to write it? Isn't it Ok the way it is with the default date setting? Answer: yes, this is a way of writing yesterday's entry, but wouldn't it be just enough to write an entry dated (implicitly) today and talk about yesterday? Especially if the entries get smart default titles such as "24-12-2005, Morning".
Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created korganizer-devel mailing list.
Imagine I want to know what happened on my birthday 4 years ago. In which date should I look for it? My birthday's date? Or should I look for a journal that starts with "Yestarday" or "Two days ago when it was my birthday"? > Especially if the entries get smart default titles such as "24-12-2005, Morning". This no longer happens.
Wontfix. See comment 3.
