The fonts in the screenshot for KDE look a little drab. I usually turn hinting off completely, whilst keeping antialiasing on, and the fonts end up looking immeasurably better (closer to that of Mac OSX).
:-) Hope that helps. Love the KDE work; easily the best desktop environment going around at the moment.
