Description Iñaki Baz Castillo 2006-09-27 23:44:26 UTC
Version: 1.4.3 (using KDE 3.5.4, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.4-0ubuntu2~dapper1 )
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-26-386

I think this bug is related to Amarok, but I can't sure it.

Sometimes using Amarok the keyboard leaves working in ALL the KDE sssion. No key responses. But I can use the mouse to start a new KDE session in "CTRL+ALT+F8" and I can write with the keyboard in the appearing KDM and KDE session (even if I login with the same user).
But if I return to the first session ("CTRL+ALT+F7") I can't use the keyboard for nothing (neither can I press CTRL+ALT+F8).

Now I use Kubuntu Dapper with KDE 3.5.4, but the same important problem has occurred to me using Debian Sid with many version of KDE.

This last time the last thing I did before the keyboard stops working was drag a photo from the Wikipedia tab of Amarok and drop in into the desktop. After that I pressed with the right button of the mouse over the image icon in the desktop, and the context menu didn't appear, strange! And since that moment the keyboard didn't work.

I remember that always this bug has occurred to me I was using Amarok and doing something with it (not just listening to music).

Xorg.log or syslog say nothing about it. If I could help with this in any way please ask me for all the info you need.

Can someone confirm this problem?

Regards.

I use Amarok 1.4.8 in Sidux (based on Debian Sid).I have a similar bug.
If i use amarok and i push the button next track too times , amarok start all songs until the playlist is finished. Then xorg use 80% of cpu, i can't use my keyboard(i can only go to init x and restart x), the scrollbar of some applications doesn't work, i have problem to see well the k-menu( like refreshing of a screen).
I have to restart x and relogin, so all things are ok.
