Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux I use kubuntu and have installed the packages for getting the ntfs-3g driver working - for ntfs read/write support. Unfortunately the storage media applet (well I assume that is what handles mounting of external usb drives) displays the drive when plugged in by fails to access/mount it with an "unknown error occured" message. My request is for ntfs-3g support to be added to kde 3.5.5, or at least make the storage media applet configurable so that I can define that I want to use the ntfs-3g driver for ntfs file systems. Thanks, Ash
I use Mandriva 2007 and KDE 3.5.4. I can confirm the problem mentioned above. Although ntfs-3g / fuse provide full rw-access to ntfs partitions, these are not shown in media applet. Strangely, one ntfs-partition located on a usb-hdd does show up as unmounted while it is mounted, the other partition on internal IDE-HDD does not show up at all. Both partitions are fully accessible in Konqueror via direct acces on /mnt/xyz. I would like to thank you for your great work and would appreciate if you can fix this issue. Regars, Stefan
The problem is not really the applet, but the mediamanager. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 139587 ***
