Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux I can install icon themes and choose them in Personal Settings Configure Desktop it changes in the menu of that but won't change it on the Desktop, Kmenu or Taskbar.
This is a post-3.5.4 issue present in SuSE's snapshot packages, it has been fixed in revision 583280. In future reports, please mention that you're using such packages, or it will be much more difficult for developers to track down any issues.
I just updated this mornign and still having problems with it. In the report I chose How I installed KDE in the dropdown menu as SUSE packages. Thank you for your response. ---------------------------------------- [bugs.kde.org quoted mail] _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself with gadgets on Windows Live Spaces http://discoverspaces.live.com?source=hmtag1&loc=us
Updated again today (Sept 15) and still the same problem.
Still having the problems. updated 2 times via Smart and still same issue with not being able to change icons.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=205535 It's good to have a responce at least here, cause on bugzilla.novell getting some kind of a response is almost hopeless. Now, seriously considering finally ditching suse just because of absurd "KDE bug reports are sent into a blackhole" bug.
Reclosing. Solution of this bug has nothing to do with when the unsupported SUSE packages are updated.
Bug closed. Kdesktop is no more mantained.
