Description Thomas Braun 2006-08-19 13:53:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

Hello,

as already asked on kde-devel (http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-devel&m=114777212514730&w=2).
This is just a copy and paste of my mail.

I encountered the fact that kdvi treats the filenames specified in the DVI file
(e.g. PSfile="mappings.eps") relative to its current working directory.
While this mostly is all you need, kile's quickpreview has some problems with
it (and I want to fix these problems).
In quickpreview we compile some selected text
in /tmp/kde-$user/kile350u/preview.tex. If the user has included a graphic
file with an relative path, kdvi in the directory /tmp/kde-$user/kile350u/
called as kdvi preview.dvi fails to display the image file.

Would be nice if I could KDVI with an environment variable like TEXINPUTS where to search for files.

Thanks
Thomas Braun

kdvi is no longer maintained since KDE SC 4, and its functionality is replace by okular. If the issue in this report still exists in or apply to okular in KDE SC 4.10.5 or higher, please reassign the report to okular product or create a new report against okular.
