Version: 1.6 (using KDE 3.5.4, Debian Package 4:3.5.4-3 (testing/unstable)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17.7-slh-up-1 Each time I open kscd its volume slider is back in nearly middle position although I set it to maximum each time. Expected behavoir: kscd should remember the slider position and volume level like other apps do (amarok e.g.).
This is also kind of valid for kscd of KDE4: the volume "wheel" always is back in middle position after restarting kscd - although the volume itself is on maximum. So the volume shown and the actual volume are out of sync on start. And the KDE4 version of kscd also doesn't remember the sound level set, it always starts with maximum volume. That's ok for me because I use maximum most of the time, but nonetheless I think the volume level should be remembered and shown.
As comment 1 points out, the volume dial starts in the middle, but volume is actually maximum. This means if you touch the volume dial to turn it down slightly from 100% to 90%, the volume immediately jumps to the position the wheel is at, which is about 40% - so then I have to turn it back up again. Has anyone actually tested kscd?
P.S. I couldn't care less if it remembers the volume setting from last run, I just want the GUI to match the actual volume. If opening a separate bug for this would make it more likely to get reviewed or confirmed please say so and I'll gladly open a new bug.

You say "in the latestversion" but is there actually a newer version? If not, obviously the bug will still be present. The bug is still present in kscd-17.08.1-1.fc27.x86_64 (the version in Fedora 27), which says it's: $ kscd --version Qt: 4.8.7 KDE Development Platform: 4.14.36 KsCD: 1.5
