Version: 2.5.3 (using KDE 3.5.3, Debian Package 4:3.5.3-1 (testing/unstable)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16-2-686-smp When switching from Terminal tab to Find-in-Files tab, any text that gets output by a running program in the Terminal tab's window gets wrapped around as if there was a screen-width of only 16 characters available for output. If there is any text already in the Terminal's window, it gets truncated to 16 characters width.
reproducable.
Small update: This actually happens when the Terminal Tab is minimised. It is unrelated to the find-in-files tab itself, as initially described.

I'm not sure, but maybe this is a konsole issue? This bug exists in KDE3, too, since years. Iirc, KateMdi calls toolview->hide(). I'm not sure why this leands to konsole changing its contents.
It is definitely a console issue. I'm going to try and talk to Robert Knight about it.
Reassigning to konsole, then. Note that I can not reproduce in KDE 4 any more, so likely this is fixed (but conceivably it's just no longer triggered in kate). bug #153340 and bug #107470 may be related.
This problem seems fixed in the KDE4 konsole. Can't reproduce it with kate-3.7.0 and konsole-2.7.999
Does that mean that bug #162515 is fixed?
