Description Keegan Carruthers-Smith 2006-08-07 00:10:08 UTC
Version: 1.4.2-beta1 (using KDE 3.5.4, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.4 (Gentoo 3.4.4-r1, ssp-3.4.4-1.0, pie-8.7.8)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16-suspend2-r8

I recently installed amaroK 1.4.2-beta1 and it seems that I the collection browser separates items depending on it case aswell.

Now in the context browser i have many entries such as 'System of a Down' and 'System Of A Down' listed as separate artists.

I have enabled atf.

I expect the behavior to be the same as every other amaroK version I have used, where artist names are tested for equality case insensitively.

this has actually been a planned change, that i welcome.
you can easily fix entries like these, and it makes it much, much easier to fix your collection.

note that comparing is still case insensitive for playlist/collection filters.

As noted above, this is a deliberate change.
Comment 3 Adrian 2006-11-03 20:42:22 UTC
An option would be a good compromise. There are people that are forced to fix houndreds of files. Don't force them to do it.

I agree with #3: there should be an option for people who do not want to fix their whole collection.
