Description Michael Williamson 2006-07-22 15:37:44 UTC
Version: 1.9.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: GCC 3.4.3
OS: Linux

Using cached imap, if you cancel upload to the server, say you have no choice, because you internet connection went down and KMail is stuck trying to upload, KMail not only crashes, but loses the emails it was uploading. If you were moving emails from one folder to another, these emails are permantly lost.

This is a critical bug! Potential data loss makes this program completely useless. The messages should not be deleted from the INBOX until they are successfully moved into the new folder.

Recategorising according to http://wiki.kde.org/tiki-index.php?page=Kmail%20Bug%20Management . Possibly related to bug 104956

Can you reproduce this problem with KMail from KDE 3.5.6? Do you get a backtrace from the crash?
