Version: 1.9.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.3) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux I use bogofilter, and set it up correctly with the antispam wizard. Then I have an IMAP account which I set up to check for new mail each 15 minutes. It seems that kmail, on each new-mail-check scans every mail in the imap folder for spam, the same happen when I just click on the folder to open it. Well I consider this a bug since it takes up to 1 minute to list the folder or to check for new mail. In other news kmail is a great mailclient, I just migrated from thunderbird, and found kmail to be faster and more feature complete in general!

Can you please modify the filter rules to make KMail skip messages which have been clasified by bogofilter in a previous run? Bogofilter adds a X-Bogosity header, so you could make the Executer Filter action with Bogofilter only run on messages without such a header. Please provide feedback if this solves your problem.
Can you please give an short example how to do that? I'm asking because If I mark some mails as HAM in Kmail with bogofilter enabled, only these lines are added: X-Bogosity: Unsure, tests=bogofilter, spamicity=0.496998, version=1.1.7
Please reopen if you still suffer this bug and are able to provide the requested information. Thanks.
Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this version of Kmail has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Please try using the latest version of Kmail to see if your issue persists. If it does, please submit a new bug in "kmail2". Thank you!
