Version: 0.11 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0) Installed from: Slackware Packages OS: Linux I am using irc.spnet.net (but there is a problem with any IRC server I try). When I am chatting with someone every 30 seconds following internal message appears in the chat window: :irc.spnet.net 338 My_Nick The_nick_of_the_person_I_chat_with His_IP :actually using host It is very annoying.
Since I'm using an SSL connection, I also see the following types of messages: :irc.example.org 275 My_Nick Other_person_Nick :is connected via SSL (secure link) 13:37:45 This is especially annoying for IRC channels with lots of people connected. Oddly, not everybody on the channel generates these (but most do). @alex
The message also regularly appears for every IRC user that is in Kopete's contact list.
I can confirm this bug with IRC on Fedora 8
