Description Tristan Miller 2006-07-09 01:22:12 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I was in the KMail component of Kontact. I was viewing an e-mail message in the preview pane. I right-clicked on the "From:" address and selected "Open in address book". Kontact crashed.

This seems to happen a lot, but not always.

Comment 2 Tristan Miller 2008-09-08 12:17:38 UTC
How on earth is this a duplicate of Bug 124677, which is about k3b and kopete?

I'm assuming that this was marked as a duplicate in error. If I'm wrong, my apologies, but please explain how these two very different problems are caused by the same bug.
Comment 3 FiNeX 2008-11-30 14:18:05 UTC
Can you still reproduce using KDE 3.5.10 or KDE 4?

I'm unable to reproduce using current trunk (>4.2beta1)
Comment 4 Tristan Miller 2008-11-30 16:50:48 UTC
I'm using KDE 3.5.9 now and the problem is actually worse... every time I do an "Open in Address book", Kontact locks up (but doesn't crash). Here is the console output:

[psy@sable:/tmp]$ kontact&
[1] 2149
[psy@sable:/tmp]$ WeaverThreadLogger: thread (ID: 1) suspended.
WeaverThreadLogger: thread (ID: 2) suspended.
WeaverThreadLogger: thread (ID: 3) suspended.
WeaverThreadLogger: thread (ID: 4) suspended.
QLayout::addChildLayout: layout already has a parent

Should I report this as a separate bug?
Comment 5 FiNeX 2008-11-30 20:27:08 UTC
Can you try to start kmail as a standalone application and try to reproduce?

Thanks!

P.S: Can't you update to 3.5.10 which have a lot of kdepim fixes?
Comment 6 Christophe Marin 2009-11-16 10:39:43 UTC
No feedback. Closing.
