Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.3) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux I've got a problem that is a little bit difficult to explain, but I'll try my best. I use the web mailer of the FH (University of applied sciences) I study at, using the server "https://webmail.fh-giessen.de". The certificate of the server is self-signed, but otherwise perfectly fine, so I answered the question ("Do you want to accept the certificate?") with "Yes, I want to accept it permanently". When I navigate to the site, everything is fine, I can log in and read some mail, but the frame on the left is reloaded automatically after some minutes. And when the frame wants to reload, the browser _always_ asks me if I want to accept the certificate, even though I answered that I want to accept it PERMANENTLY, so I think the frame should reload without asking me first. P.S.: The web mailer is based on SquirrelMail 1.4.4, without any modifications regarding the web frontend. P.S.2: All other Browsers I tried honor my choice to accept the certificate permanently, without asking me every few minutes, which is much more pleasant. P.S.3: The message that is displayed be Konqueror every few minutes (when the frame reloads): --------------------------------------------- You have indicated that you wish to accept this certificate, but it is not issued to the server who is presenting it. Do you wish to continue loading? --------------------------------------------- P.S.4: There is only one server, so the message above is lying (it IS issued to the server who is presenting it, because there is only one server that hosts the frontend. There may be some other servers hosting the user database and the actual mails, but these servers are not visible from the outside.).
P.S.5: Sometimes the message pops up two times in a row, I don't know why.
I experience same kind of problem. Webmail software is IMP running on Horde platform. Konqueror is newest on Ubuntu Edgy (3.5.5). Also Firefox handles things ok. See: http://www.kde-forum.org/thread.php?postid=60357
Does this bug still happen in recent versions like 3.5.9 ?
> Does this bug still happen in recent versions like 3.5.9 ? Well, it seems as if this bug has been fixed in the meantime, I couldn't reproduce it in Konqueror 3.5.8 :) Thank you very much!
> Well, it seems as if this bug has been fixed in the meantime [...] Oops, seems as if I was too fast :( The webmailer refreshes the left frame periodically every 10 minutes. The first refresh, 10 mins after login did work without problems. But the second refresh (after 20 mins) did display this "Do you wish to continue loading?" screen again. Actually the prompt was displayed two times in a row. (Maybe because the first refresh went through without any problems?!?). So I will reopen this. Seems as if Konqueror is still unable to permanently accept the certificate. No other browser I ever used shows this strange problem.

KDE 3 is no longer maintained and the issue if "remember forever" not being honored has also been fixed recently. The multiple prompt dialogs is a known KIO limitation of using processes to service requests and there is already other tickets opened against that issue. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 233628 ***
