Version: 1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux After installing the new version of Kontact I have lost the possibility of watching "special events". Before, birthdays and anniversaries were working perfectly but now, although I have it checked in components (under kontact config) and in summary view (under summary view config). Notice that Bug 115820 is related but in that case the author of the bug didn't have the component checked. I do have it checked but still the special events part of the section is not shown (not even the special events gray bar). I do have /usr/kde/3.5/lib/kde3/libkontact_specialdatesplugin.la /usr/kde/3.5/lib/kde3/libkontact_specialdatesplugin.so as requested in that bug report. Any help? Thanks in advance
I've the same problem. It seems, that "special dates" are treated like general tasks. Let assume today is the 2006-08-25 and the "special date" was the 2000-08-25. This date won't be shown in the summary. If the "special date" is the 2006-08-26 it will. greetz
Works for me. Maybe your KDE installation is broken. Please reopen if you can reproduce with KDE 3.5.5. @Comment #1: Your problem is a different one, read the original bug report. I would make a wishlist BR for 'show special dates in summary widget on day of occurrence'.
I have just deleted all packages I had from KDE 5.5.2 and I have made a new installation with packages from KDE 3.5.5. I still have the same problem with KDE 3.5.5. and kontact 1.2.3. I have installed both kde-base/kontact and kde-base/kontact-specialdates (gentoo packages) both 3.5.5 versions. When I configure the components to show or not show the special dates, there is no change in the main window. In previous versions it would take the birthdays from my kaddressbook but now they are not shown. You mention to reopen the bug. How can I do it? Thanks
Ok, I was not logged in so I didn't have the option. Now I have.
Created attachment 71167 [details] kontact summary Works nicely in recent versions.
