Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package OS: Linux The only plugin in use is history. I have my own username in my buddy list... I did this when I was using the official AIM client on windows, so I could test my AIM connection by messaging myself (this was useful mostly on my cell phone's unstable internet connection) and check my user profile quickly. In Kopete, I am not allowed to add my own screen name to my buddy list, which is seems unreasonable (why put this limit when it's artificial?). More importantly, Kopete will crash if I message myself with another client on another computer logged in with the same SN, but gaim and official aim and other clients will not crash.
I'm not sure If I understand it. If you log in with another client with the same name, than Kopete logout and crash, yes? If it's this bug than it is fixed in Kopete that comes with KDE 3.5.3. If you can test it or provide backtrace of that crash. Own contact is not allowed in contact list because there are some restriction in Kopete contact list.
Never mind. As of the version of Kopete in KDE 3.5.7, I can't message myself on purpose and reproduce this
