Description David Anderson 2006-06-19 20:17:39 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

When the Realplayer plugin (from the RealPlayer 10 RPM - RealPlayer-10.0.7.785-20060201) is asked to initialise a second time within the same window, it fails. Closing the window and re-opening it also fails. From that point onwards, you have to use Firefox to see your Real video!

Reproducible: Every time.

Example:
Go to http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/5079802.stm and click the video link in the top of the right-hand column (choose Real Video if asked). Then after the video has started, choose the other video link within the pop-up player. Result: it fails.

I have my plugins load on demand... if I don't load on demand, then it is only reproducible almost-all of the time.

You can get the RealPlayer RPM from here:

Dear user,

KHTML (and KJS and all related Java/plugin infrastructure) was a long time more or less unmaintained and got removed in KF6.

Please migrate to use a QWebEngine based HTML component.

We will do no further fixes or improvements to the KF5 branches of these components beside important security fixes.

For security issues, please see:

https://kde.org/info/security/

Sorry that we did not fix this issue during the life-time of KHTML.

Greetings
Christoph Cullmann
