Version: 1.4.0 (using KDE 3.5.2 Level "a" , SUSE 10.1 UNSUPPORTED) Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.18-20060526192846-mic unfortunately, trying to play mms-media streams is a hassle with amarok. It can't accomplish connections to the server reliably, almost never which is in contrast to kmplayer for instance. But that's not enough, the only way to possibly succeed is to run the playlist in a loop. However, even then it's not certain getting a connection and one suffers in that loop which into the bargain freezes/famishes either kicker, kwin or something else, I don't know exactly. The fact is that one can't interact with kicker or any other window anymore, even xkill get's its slot just after an eternity. The stream I'm especially having problems with is http://www.txradica.net/tune.php?c=solar2 Hope this very superficial description helps bye M;chi
Whatever the issue is, it's a backend issue, not amaroK. Means xine or helix or what you happen to be using. Report there.
Whatever the issue is, I doubt it's a backend issue. As I tried to say, using the exact same engine either in kaffeine or kmplayer doesn't show that problem. Moreover, I guess the freezing thing is another issue, though I can't be sure about that. bye
I can confirm that kaffeine play this stream fine (using xine backend) but amarok does not. It gives me the error message "There is no audio channel!".
I think this bug is related to bug 132223 if not even a dup.
Closing this. Due to bad language in title. *scnr* *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 132223 ***
