Description Scott Couston 2006-05-31 05:06:08 UTC
Version: 3.5 (using KDE 3.5.1 Level "a" , SUSE 10.1)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.13-4-smp

There is a strong emphasis on security within Kmail which is most appreciated especially the functionality of KGpg us unreal.

As far as receipts are concerned we only have the ability to request message disposition and depending on the recipients policy you may or may not be advised more often than not you wont be.

With a digitally signed email I should be able to request S/MIME receipts.

Part of the reason for having digital Certificates is so that you can check the actual disposal of your message.

Almost without exception most domains mail servers and clients will comply with the request for S/MIME receipt without the user being aware they have sent notifications. It is especially helpful if email either doesn't get to destination or each relay of one email address to another - no matter how long the string me be, the sender is always notified of the message disposition.

This functionality takes up no time of the user as it does not ask the user for a yes/no.

The policy is set in the mail server I believe.
