Description Scott Couston 2006-05-31 04:41:52 UTC
Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.1 Level "a" , SUSE 10.1)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.13-4-smp

Many apps install Dictionaries. We use 1 dictionary for Open Office, another for KDE apps.

It would be great to be able to select which 'system' dictionary/Thesaurus and a 'system' custom dictionary.

I am not suggesting that current functionality of have 2 dictionaries in different languages be changed at all.

Appreciate you can select external editor Kmail.

The English dictionaries are severely limited in KDE. I am a little perplexed that spell as you go identifies a word misspelled and yet does not have a suggestion nor the ability to add to custom dictionary in a few clicks.

Thanks for your time.

It works fine for me. KMail offers suggestions for all misspelt (and usual) words.

Apologies for statement "does not have a suggestion" I should not have included this as agree a suggestion is offered.

It would be great to choose a system wide dictionary in a set-up as suggested and if not possible Kmail should offer a right click
"add to dictionary"
“ignore”
“change ALL”

Also in installation routine Keyboard layout does not equate to dictionary for Oceania. Here we use a US keyboard but the closest dictionary to our English is a UK dictionary.

If I choose a UK keyboard the placement of the @ and $ and # are transposed so the keyboard shipped to Oceania is a US layout - however our dictionary closest match is UK

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
