Description Scott Couston 2006-05-28 08:11:22 UTC
Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.1 Level "a" , SUSE 10.1)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.13-4-smp

Yes I understand this request has been placed before.
If I select a Folder, then Select all messages, then Save As - The resultant file is a mix of text and HTML code.
This file is really not useful as an import source into a different mail application or transport to say a laptop nor is the file usable as a backup.

Given the situation where a Laptop (on the go) is used on the go to receive and store mail and you then want to combine you mail back to the Desktop (office) there is no functionality to import the email from a file.

I feel that an export email in native and other file formats is required for flexibility.

The saved file contains the messages in the so-called mbox format. Any serious mail application is able to import mbox files including KMail (via File->Import Messages or Tools->Import Messages).

I agree that an easier way to do it would be nice.
