Version: 1.13 (using KDE 3.5.2, Debian Package 4:3.5.2-2+b1 (testing/unstable)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-1-686 Personally, I am not sure if the submission to freedb works. I edited a CD yesterday, but still I can not find it on freedb.org. Frankly, I do not know if kaudiocreator even submitted it. Is this done automatically, whenever I edit a CD and press "OK" thereafter? There is absolutely no feedback by kaudiocreator about a submission was sent to freedb. Also, some people might not like an automatical submission (if this is done). proposed solution: Please add a "submit to CDDB" button on the CD Editor, which sends the new/updated CD to the cddb of choice (e.g. freedb) and also by http or smtp (whatever the user configured)
If KAudioCreator doesn't support submission of CD data, at the very least the "submit" Tab in the configuration dialog should be removed. It gives the false impression that KAudioCreator has that functionality. I carefully edited album info for an entry which has typos and errors, and it was very frustrating to search endlessly for a "submit" button and end up finding none, and wort of all learn that the time I invested on this was lost. :-(
This problem still persists in KDE 3.5.8 - I just manually entered all information for a CD not yet available at freedb, but I just cannot find a way to submit it?!? It looks as if I'm not the only one having this problem: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-101022.html It also looks as if this problem is already quite old...
Yes, at the moment it's not possible to submit information to freedb from kaudiocreator. As a workaround you can open it in kscd, and there, there is an 'Upload' button for submitting to freedb.

This project is unfortunately no longer maintained. If a new maintainer wants to step up and take care, the project is archived here: https://invent.kde.org/unmaintained/kaudiocreator You can just clone it in your private namespace on invent.kde.org and if you have started to work on it and fixed/implemented something get it reviewed and the project unarchived. Sorry for the inconveniences.
