Hint: open sieve://imap.server.name/script-name in kwrite.

Nevertheless, it should not be modal. I had the same issue before i knew about the ioslave.
For me the window the window is not modal in KDE 4.3 - as long as I look at the right one :)
We are talking about: Settings -> Manage Sieve Scripts -> Edit Script When that window is opened I cannot focus any email or other part within Kontact. (Testcase: Try selecting text from an email.) Please reopen.
