Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2) Installed from: Fedora RPMs Please implement a system for browsing available calendars in a WebDAV folder to make it easy to subscribe to new calendars. Easy method: The KDE calendar application just lists the available .ics files in a WebDAV folder. Fancier method: A new system is created to describe a list of calendars with metadata (such as a short description). Then, the KDE calendar application subscribes to to this list. Finally, the user is able to browse the list to find new calendars. (Hopefully, this type of system also would work in other applications such as Mozilla Calendar, Chandler, Evolution, etc.) Usage scenario: WebDAV is a convenient way to share calendars on an existing web server. Imagine an office where each user stores his calendar in a common WebDAV folder. Then, User #11 wants to subscribe to calendars of Users #1 through 10, so User #11 has to find all their 10 URLs. However, with the new system, he could just specify the directory URL; then, he could simply click on each the desired calendars to subscribe.
Yes I vote for this feature. Really, kontact should be aware of all .ics on a directory, much like thunderbird/lightning. In lightning, you can configure a calendar as an webdav directory (not just an .ics file); all items below that directory are processed.
