Description Gael Beaudoin 2006-04-04 17:41:34 UTC
Version: 0.99+1.0beta1-6ubuntu6 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I launch raki.
 I do "synce-serial-config ttyUSB0"
 I do "synce-serial-start"
And then raki detect the newly connected pda .. and crash.

I already filled a bug in the the old ubuntu bugzilla and and then malone here (but both are in malone now) :

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/synce-kde/+bug/36264
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/synce-kde/+bug/4198
(the last one has strace synce-serial-start and raki debug infos)

There is more information on these bug reports, don't think it's useful to paste them here.

I decided to fill a new bug report in kde bugzilla because the bug remains for several months now and I'm not sure it's an ubuntu specfic bug.

I've had this problem, too. Raki crashes (it shows the kdebug report popup thingy) after I do the 'synce-serial-start' command as root. In spite of the crash I can still connect to the ipaq handheld with the konqueror browser using 'rapip:/' in the address bar. Also I can put files on the ipaq with the drag-n-drop feature. I haven't tried any synchronization features of raki because it always crashes, but everything else so far remains unaffected.

Oops! Sorry, I shouldn't have posted the raki bug here as raki doesn't seem to be a kde-specific application. I'm thinking sourceforge would've been a better place to post.

raki is kde-specific but not using kde infrastructure for its development.

Not quite sure if this is really related kdebluetooth?!
